We provide gravel driveway installation in Pelzer and surrounding areas.
I come out and take a look at the area where the driveway will be installed or repaired. We discuss options, thickness, materials, and how the job will be done.
Vegetation is cleared if needed. The area is graded down past the topsoil to reach a firm layer of dirt. If the topsoil is too deep, additional dirt can be brought in to create a solid base.
The area is graded and shaped to prepare for gravel installation and proper drainage.
New gravel driveways are recommended to be at least 6 inches thick. If a customer wants to start with 4–5 inches, it can be done, but it will require maintenance much sooner. This option is sometimes used to meet occupancy or inspection requirements.
For existing gravel driveways, I back-drag and break up the surface to level it and bring existing gravel back into the driving surface. The driveway is regraded and finished with a fresh layer of gravel.
